At Archie Rose, we’ve never been much for following the recipe. The whole point of what we do is, and always has been, to create something new. Our Trials & Exceptions series is where we do our experimenting. It’s the confluence of art and science - part laboratory, part studio - where our distillers and blenders can let their imaginations loose, driven by our thirst for discovery.
Over the past few years, we’ve been experimenting with various styles of local NSW molasses to produce our Archie Rose rums. Each of these ingredients have their own unique character, which we’ve showcased through our Refiner’s Molasses Rum, Fancy Molasses Rum and Mill Molasses Rum. But now with the release of our Triple Molasses Rum, we have blended these three distinct styles together to create something of incredible depth and balance - a navy style Archie Rose rum for the modern world.
So, you want to throw a party? Excellent idea. Whether it’s inviting 50 mates over for a boogie in your living room or cooking up a storm and flexing your tablescape skills with five friends – whatever you decide, there’s plenty to plan.
One of life’s many great challenges, finding the perfect place to curl up with a good book! Whether near or far there are always a few trusty reading nooks to fall back on, and, at the risk of tooting our own horn, we’re pretty sure we’ve found them all toot toot.
Along with the traditional Scottish and Irish peated whiskies, over 99% of the smoky whiskies produced in places as far flung as Japan, India, and here in Australia, are made with peated malt imported from Scotland rather than local grains. Other kinds of smoked grains are simply not readily available. As the vast majority of whisky producers rely on the existing supply for access to grain, Scotland is the one place that has smoked barley to share. But Archie Rose is committed to making uniquely Australian whisky, using local grains and other Australian ingredients, wherever possible, and creating spirits that evoke the aromas, flavours and memories of this incredible land.
