20th Century
This cocktail was first published in 1937, named after a glamorous train—the 20th Century Ltd Express—which travelled between Chicago and New York, back when train travel was still an opulent activity. At the time it was the world’s most famous train, an art deco masterpiece featuring a dining car that would transform into a nightclub after dinner. A masterpiece in its own right, the 20th Century cocktail still makes for a marvellous nightcap.
